Yosemite

I guess I missed something fun we did.  I can't believe it.
I am going to post really quick about this one.  On a long weekend we headed up to Yosemite and stayed in Oakhurst, CA.  It was magnificent.  The weather was cool and so comfortable.
We only spent one day in the park.  I could have spent the entire day in the Mariposa Grove(?).  It was a lot of hiking but so much fun and amazing to see nature at it's finest.  Of course we went during a holiday weekend so it was PACKED.  Our hotel was basically booked up the whole time we were there but the only part of about that that was upsetting was trying to get breakfast.

The next morning before we headed back home we took a ride on an old logger train just outside of the park.  I thought Wyatt would LOVE it since he is a lover of anything with wheels but I think it kinda scared him as well.  He did get used to it but was ready for the "ride" to be over.  Now though, he sees our magnet and wants to ride on it again.  I am sad to say that is not going to happen anytime soon.  Since we will be moving away sometime between now and Spring we are going to see other things.  Looking forward to getting back to Disneyland.  None of my boys (including Jason) has been to Disneyland so it will be fun to share it all with them.  I haven't been to Disneyland since Grad Night.  I can't believe that has been over 14 years now.  I feel so old.  I am looking forward to seeing all the new rides they have.
Okay, so here are the pictures from the train ride.

Garrett's 8 month photos

Okay, so I know I am almost a month late with these but I hope you all forgive me.
Garrett has seen the doctor for other issues and because of that have decided to start supplementing with formula.  He went from 15lbs 7oz to 16lbs 7oz in 2 weeks while supplementing.  I see him so much happier and excited about all new things.  He is now crawling.  He is so cute crawling and although I know he could have been crawling sooner part of me wishes he still wasn't crawling yet.  Of course, now he is wanting to get up and start cruising.  I hope he waits until he is atleast a year old for that one.

Update

...with more in depth posts later.
I know I have been so behind on things.  It has been just crazy.  I am going to try and start where I left off.  I am just going to do a quick run through and then hopefully I can make time to get a little more in depth in what has been happening in our neck of the woods.
Okay, so Garrett is now 8 and a half months old.  He weighed in at 16lbs 7oz.  He is just shy of 29 inches long.  He is going to physical therapy for his muscle tone.  We have been going for about 2 and a half months and is making huge strides.  We and the therapist believe that it won't be long and he will be crawling, he is basically sitting (still falls but is doing so much better).
I have started supplementing with formula because he has dropped off his own curve.  At 8 months he was only 15lbs 7oz.  After 2 weeks of nursing and then 4 oz of formula he gained a whole pound.  I am so happy for him.
He was having "episodes" where he would jerk his head from left to right, blank out, hold his breath and grunt a bit.  We took him to the doctor but by the time we got to the appt. he hadn't had one single "episode" for a week.  We took him anyway just to be on the safe side.  We had some blood drawn and saw the dr. 2 weeks later.  His liver enzymes are slightly elevated.  I can't remember which is which but one number's average high is 45 (I think) and his was 46.  The other number was an average high of 59 (again, I think) and his was like 75.  The doctor still wasn't concerned, thought maybe he was recovering from a cold but still wanted us to redo the bloodwork to make sure and get a chest x-ray.  I have no idea what the chest x-ray showed but his enzyme levels have NOT gone down.  They haven't gone up either.   So, we have an appointment tomorrow to get an abdominal ultrasound and a referral is in the works to see a gastroenterologist (if I spelled it wrong, I am sorry, I am too tired now to go look it up).
Other than that he is healthy, happy, and we are all sure there is nothing of concern.  But better safe than sorry, and I am hoping that is the premise behind all the appointments and tests the doctor is ordering.  Of course, any prayers sent up for him and us will be greatly appreciated.
As for the rest of us, we are all doing great.  We just had our first parent/teacher conference of Cody's 1st grade year.  He is doing exceptionally well.  He does like to talk to one special young lady but his work is really well and we are so proud of him.
Wyatt will be starting kindergarten next year and is progressing in his writing, ABCs and his numbers.  I am excited and sad to have him so close to starting school.  I do believe that primary is helping (when he chooses to go to his class instead of hanging out with me or Jason).
Jason, right now, technically doesn't have a job.  His shop wasn't getting any work so they decided to shut down his side of the program.  The co-workers that just recently arrived at Edwards were transferred to other shops.  Jason and another co-worker have had they jobs eliminated and are awaiting orders.  Yep, you read that right.  We have gotten word that we are to expect orders to another base.  As to what base that will be and when, good question.  As soon as we know we will pass on the word.
They were asked where they would like to go and of course Jason said Elmendorf AFB.  I would love to go back too and Cody is already telling his teacher that we ARE going back to Alaska.  I hope he is right, but I would also like the opportunity to experience another part of the country before we are done with the military.
What we do know is that we will be leaving anytime between now and spring time.  It is going to be a fun and difficult move.  I love my family and it has been great for the boys to get to know my family so much better but California is just not suited for us.  Cody and I have bad allergy issues.
On that note, I also went to the doctor.  I have been having horrible migraines and allergies.  It turns out I have a deviated septum (like my father).  Unfortunatly the doctor suggested a medicinal regimine, daily instead of surgery to correct the problem.  The medicine is helping with the allergies but it also causes me to get a headache if I forgot to take the medicine.  Which bothers me because I just gave up caffeine soda for that reason.  So now I dropped one "addiction" for another.  That is part of the reason I would like to get back to Elmendorf.  They have a fully equipped hospital on base.  I think if we were able to get back I could get my doctor to okay the surgery and hopefully no longer have to worry about allergies or headaches again.  Also, getting out of California's high desert will be a huge leap into stopping my allergy problems.
So, I think I touched on everything.  I hope in the next week or so I can get back online and post a bit more of everything that has been going on and some pictures.
I have some of Garret when he turned 8 months old and last weekend when we took the boys to a pumpkin patch in town with my parents.  So much fun and stress to be had in the DeTullio household  : D
