Crazy me

I completely forgot that I was going to post pictures of me from the birthday party/Girl's night out/Mother's Day celebration that I got the chance to go to.
Jason made sure I went and I have to admit, I was tempted to not go (I just feel so guilty not being with the family when we have a chance to be home and annoy enjoy each other's company.
I am SO glad I went.  Although when I set out to go I didn't know what I was in for.  The plan was to get a pedicure

Then we went out for dinner at this great Oriental restaurant that just so happened to have been recommended to us by a friend of Jason's before we even got here.

And then we went to play miniature golf

Now you see what I meant by "didn't know what I was getting into".  Apparently this is a yearly event for these ladies.  I had a blast though.  I couldn't believe it when I saw the tutu's.  I knew we were getting special flip flops (which I love) but didn't know about the crown, gigantic ring or the crown.
I admit I was tempted to run back home and say, forget the whole thing.  But you know what?  It is fun to be silly.  I loved hearing all the comments.  Some people were brave enough to ask why were dressed up and other's speculated.  We were even thought to have been a bridal party.
Unfortunately the birthday girl is moving (to Alaska, I am so jealous) but has warned us that we better keep up the tradition and I do hope we can.
I needed the girl's night and hope to get more chances.  Not sure about doing the whole get up everytime but it was fun.
Don't you just love the idea of an indoor miniature golf course that is GLOW IN THE DARK???  I so want to go back.  It was even better that it was themed.  I had so much fun seeing all the things I used to play with or watch when I was a kid.  I almost bought me some gloves they had in the gift shop for Jason's bday party next year (the big 4-0) that will be 80s themed.
Well, I think that is about it for now.
Today was Cody's last day as a 1st grader.  I have a picture of him with his teacher here so I will be sure to discuss it more next week.  Plus, we have a fun filled weekend planned.  Jason also has a 4 day weekend so we are going to Deadwood (where Wild Bill Hickok was killed) and then off to ride an 1880s train and chuckwagon show afterwards and lastly, to round out the weekend, a trip to Custer State Park.  I sure hope we all have the stamina to last the whole weekend.
Have a great Memorial Day!!!

A little bit of sunshine

Yesterday we had just a bit of sunshine.  It was warm and after school ALL the kids from the neighborhood were out playing.
Our ward recently did a ward cookbook and one of those "recipes" included was sidewalk chalk paint.  Since it was nice out, I had the ingredients and Wyatt loves to paint I decided we needed to try this recipe out.  I just wish I had more corn starch to play some more.  It is/was easily cleaned up by the rain that started falling last night and is continuing as we speak I type.
Unfortunately the pictures are on my other computer.  If you want to see them, until I am able to add them later here, you can check out some of the pictures on my craft blog here.
I am such a dork.  Silly me, the pictures ARE on this computer.  So, if you want to check out my craft blog, feel free.  If not, here you go.
Wyatt has to be in all the pictures.  He was so excited to get started painted.  He loves to pain and couldnt understand why I kept telling him to put their watercolor paints away.

But he soon figured it out and wasted no time jumping in.

I wanted to show you some of South Dakota weather.  I wish I had edited this picture just a bit differently but see how little blue sky there is?  This is the view from our front porch.

Look at all this blue sky.  This is the view from our porch if you trune 90 degrees to the left.

Of course when Cody got home from school and we discovered he had no homework he dug right in too.

Marshmallow break.  He is getting so big.  I don't know where the last 7 and a half years have gone.  I hope the next 7 1/2 and beyond goes by very, very slow.

All of the artwork in one picture.  I contributed with the "Welcome Home Daddy" (of course Jason didn't even see that) and a couple of flowers.

I wanted to include this as well.  After Jason got home from work Garrett was just waking up from his nap.  He wanted to play outside so badly with his brothers but they get too rough and I had a couple things to do inside while Jason got dinner ready so this was his solution.  He may not do some of the physical things he is supposed to do or have the amount of words in his vocabulary that he should BUT, he sure can solve a problem pretty easily.

Tomorrow I am going to attempt to post some pictures from a Girl's Night Out/Mother's Day/Birthday part that Jason forced me strongly suggested I to go to :D

Good food...

Garrett is just awesome.  I love that he will eat anything you put in front of him.  I hope he keeps it up because his brothers were like that too and now they seem to get pickier by the hour.
Yesterday, Sunday, Jason made a delicious Sunday dinner.  We had roasted chicken, stuffing and cranberry sauce (well, the boys had cranberry sauce).

If you look you can tell that Garrett really gets into his food.  I had a blast encouraging him as well.
Jason was none too happy with me either.  He kept asking for more and more food so instead of giving him food I gave him my fork.  He had a blast with that.  Mostly it was used as a drum stick (I think he needs a set of drums but Jason says no).
In fact, after that Cody started playing the air guitar.  That is when I told Jason we need to get Cody a guitar, Wyatt a microphone (he loves to hear himself talk) and Garrett a set of drums and they will be the next big brother band.  I said we can call them "The Italian Boys" or I even thought of "Words of Passion" only because we could turn it into an acronym (WOP)  :D  I know, I get my sense of humor from my Dad and I love it...
So after Garrett was getting good and messy he started clapping.  So I encouraged and when he banged his hands on his tray, I encouraged.  Food was flying everyone.  I couldn't help but laugh and Jason was a good sport and just smiled.  He actually handled the situation better than I expected, he is learning so well  :)
I just love those big brown eyes.  He is always getting compliments on them too.  With those big eyes and Daddy's eyelashes, which he already knows how to work.  I know we are going to be in big trouble when he is a teenager.
One last picture of the aftermath of the fun after dinner performance.
I am so lucky to have all 4 of my boys.

P.S. What do you guys think of the bigger pictures?
