The antics of my boys

I know I have been pretty talkative lately.  It just seems to be the time of year where there are things going on.  But this time I just wanted to do a journal/scrapbook thing about the boys so I never forget their antics.
First thing I wanted to write before I forgot.  When we were heading to Tahoe for our weekend getaway we were almost there.  All we had to do was get to the other side of the mountain, literally.  The boys are seeing snow and wanting to get out and play in it so bad.  Next thing we hear is Cody.  What did he say?  He asked Jason, "Dad, are you sure you know where the hotel is?"  I guess Jason was taking too long to get there for Cody.
Second, I got some video but Wyatt wasn't very cooperative so I am just going to type it.  Wyatt is still trying to figure out some sounds and some things are hard to understand.  Well, Wyatt cannot say hamburger or movie.  I think there is something else but for now those are the only ones I can remember right now.
The way that Wyatt says those to words is:  "handerburger" and "moobie".  It is so cute and I should be correcting him when he says them but instead I copy him and get him to say it more often.
Now, for a picture that Cody drew on his own while I wasn't looking.  The first is his name.  He loves writing his name all over the place and I just love it.

Now I am going to show you a picture he drew on the other side.  I thought it was really cute until he told me what some lines meant.  I wrote it all on the picture so you can see.  You might want to click on it to make the picture bigger to see what I am really talking about.  I mean, I know that pregnancy hasn't been the greatest to me but I can't believe that when drawing a family picture that he would put that into it.  Now, you might also wonder why I would put this on the internet for everyone to see, shouldn't I be embarrassed.  Well, yes, I am a bit embarrassed but my son's ingenuity is more special that keeping this secret for my benefit.  I hope you get a great laugh out of it.

Trunk or Treat

Last night was trunk or treat at our church.  It started out great.  The boys were extremely excited about going.  It was cold so we made the boys wear sweats underneath their costumes.  It was all great until Wyatt didn't like how his "shoes" wouldn't stay over his shoes.  Cody didn't like how his sweats rolled up his arms and legs when he put his costume on.  Because of this trunk or treat was threatened to be only for Wyatt and Cody and I were going to have to stay home.  Once Jason and Wyatt got ready to leave the house by themselves Cody realized that we were serious and quickly got dressed for trunk or treat.  Sounds just like something I would have done when I was younger.  Much to mine and Jason's dismay.
We were about 20 minutes late leaving for the church but surprising enough we were only about 5-10 minutes late getting to the church.  They wre in line for hot dogs and hot cocoa so we weren't doing too bad with time after all.  We got to hang out with friends and eat before heading back out in the cold to trunk or treat.  Jason started handing out candy so I was goign to take the boys around so they can get theirs.  Of course, did the boys like that idea?  Nope, not at all.  They waited for Jason to finish passing out the candy before they left to get their own.

After the trunk or treating started to wear down we heading back into the church to run around with friends and have some fun.  All in all the night ended on a good note and the boys went straight to bed.  Here are some pictures of what my boys may look like on Halloween (minus the masks they have).

Pumpkin Carving

We are less than a week away from Halloween.  With all out planning and getting ready for Halloween I was sure we would be way ahead of the game on this one.  Alas, we are running behind again.  The house is not decorated, we have no candy, no candy bowl and we finally got our pumpkins carved last night.
This is how last night went.  Jason was dropped off by his boss from the gym.  I tried to get some TV watched while folding more laundry, Jason finally got Cody to finish the last of his homework while I got started throwing a couple of frozen pizzas in the oven.
After a few tantrums before dinner we finally got dinner done and now the attempt to get out of the house so we can run to the store.  We needed batteries for the pumpkin carvers we have, were looking for a candy bowl, etc.
We had a few meltdowns at the store as well.  Cody sees things in the store and he assumes that he is going to get them right then and there.  We are getting some ideas and had hoped we would find something we saw in the ad that would be perfect for the boys and my sisters 2 girls.  But of course, this lovely BX, didn't have what we were looking for.  I might have to order them online.
It was late by the time we make it back home but we did promise the boys some pumpkin carving.  We have 2 one for each boy to design.  I had issues with the carvers but the mechanic that Jason is figured it out.  It also took us a bit of time to figure out what to put on the table so that it doesn't get ruined.  Jason gets Wyatt's pumpking opened up first and starts gutting it.  I finally get my carver working and decided to get my own spoon to gut Cody's pumpkin.  Both boys thought the guts were disgusting and after touching it once decided not to touch it again.  Cody instead wanted to take a couple pictures.  I will show those.
Wyatt absolutely had a blast drawing on his pumpkin and Jason had to make a few alteration to make it a jack-o-latern.  Cody's was crazy but he had a blast as well.
I think that is about it for the evening.  Here are the pictures to go along with it.

My guilt will never fade

For most of you, you already know all this but for my own benefit I want to share a story about me.  This is something that happened in my life about 10 years ago and something I will feel guilty about, I am sure, for the rest of my life.  The guilt is fading and I feel like she doesn't hate me for it or blame me but I can't help but realize the things and people that she was taken from because of a decision I made.
I spent some time after my 21st birthday and a bit before drinking and such.  Nothing I could get arrested for :)
Today would have been my friends 31st birthday.  It is hard to believe that is the case.  At the time I was not the friend to her that she was to me.  She helped me get my first job, remembered my birthday and got me a great gift, and was always ready to spend time doing what my sister and I wanted to do.  Unfortunately a lot of the things we wanted to do did not include her daughter who was between 1 and 3 at the time.  Again, another example of how not a good friend I was.
Because of her though, my sister and I are still alive today.  We are both now married and my sister has 3 wonderful kids, the last of whom, I hope to be able to meet soon, and I am baking my 3rd precious child.
This past Saturday I went to visit my parents for the main reason, to visit my friends grave site.  I am grateful for the time I am close so that I can visit her on her birthday.  While there I felt very comfortable and at ease about a lot of things.  I know she has been guiding me on some of the decisions I have made recently and I am sure she had something to do with me meeting my husband.
When the time comes and I get to meet her again I pray that I have the words that fully expresses the feelings I have wanted to share with her ever since our accident.

Kindergarten pictures

I seem to have a lot of stuff to share at the moment.  I was surprised to see Cody come out of his classroom with a packet.  I was shocked and happy to see that the package was his school pictures.  Since I am going to see my parents and hopefully run into my sister and her family on Saturday I will be able to get their pictures to them.
Cody took some awesome pictures and I am so happy and excited about his first school pictures.  There was just one problem...his class picture was not in the package like all his friends had.  The package we bought is supposed to have it in there so now I get the priviledge to call the company and find out how and when I can get that picture.  School pictures are important but class pictures are second in importance of school pictures and memories.
I will be uploading a picture as soon as possible.

First ever Parent/Teacher Conference

Yet another milestone has started for us.  This morning we went to our first parent/teacher conference for Cody.  She had nothing but good things to say about him.  He needs help on recognizing a few letters and some help with his numbers.  He gets a little too excited and then just starts saying numbers when he gets going too fast.  He comes home everyday counting.  He is working on counting to 100 because one of the girls in his class was counting that high one day.
She gave him Outstanding marks on his social skills, work habits and effort.  She even said that when it is time to clean up he cleans his mess up and sometimes the kids around him.  I would love to know which kid she is talking about because that is not my son.  This morning I told him for about 45 minutes to get dresssed so we can go to the conference and he still didn't get dressed until his Dad arrived home and told him he needed to get dressed.

I do have to say though, as I am sure all other mothers would say.  I am glad that he behaves so well at school and fights me.

The beginning

Welcome family and friends.  I have decided that I need to start blogging about my family and our misadventures.
For some I am going to share just a bit of background.  Jason and I met many moons ago on the greatest creation and worst pain in the hiney ever made, the internet.  Yep, we met in a chat room for LDS singles.  After losing contact for a bit we met up again thanks to AOL.  After talking online for a while and then talking on the phone every weekend Jason got a trip to Las Vegas.  Since I only lived 3 hours away I decided to drive up there and meet him.  Two months later we met at his house in Oklahoma and took a week long trip to Wyoming.  Two months after that I realized I didn't like being so far away so I made plans to move to Oklahoma to be closer to him.
After that it took 2 years before we tied the knot by a Bishop in an LDS chapel.  It was a very small ceremony with very little fanfare but it was wonderful.
About a month later we were moving to Alaska.  That is where we had Cody and 2 years later had Wyatt.  I missed family and decided that we needed to come back to the lower 48, this was after living in Alaska for 5 years.
We are now in Sounthern California about an hour away from my parents and my sister and her family.  We are expecting our 3rd child and due February 5th of 2010.  I am expecting the baby to arrive at the end of January instead though.
I hope to keep up with events that happen around here but not sure how well I am going to be able to do so.  Even with all the fun stuff to do in California we haven't been able to see too much.  I hope that before we leave here that will change.
