It was a sad day...

We lost a member of our family yesterday. She was only a part of our lives for a short time but she was the best we could have asked for. She is our pet dog. We rescued her while we lived in Alaska from a Labrador Rescue. She was perfect for us from day one. My middle son was maybe a year old at the time and she took to him and my older son so well. She played with them so well, she didn't fight when they climbed all over her or tried to smother her with love.

She was already trained and named. We think she was abot 2 or so years old when we got her. That would have made her about 5 years old now. Which makes the reason for her death so unusual.

For a week or so she hadn't been eating much, lethargic and just simply not herself. It turns out she had been losing weight, drastic weight. We noticed it but didn't realize how bad it was. In total from healthy to yesterday, she had lost about 30lbs.

We tried to get her to the vet sooner but ours is out of town. We waited hoping she would snap out of it. She started to, we got to play with her for a little while this weekend but yesterday she even refused to take her medicine. She had been doing that twice a day.

My husband called another vet and we were able to get her in later that day. We thought maybe, just maybe seh had eaten one of the boys toys and have to have surgery to take it out.

The vet looked her over, couldn't get a single signal from her what might be wrong. We had decided to go with the Vet's reccomendation to keep her there for a few days. She was dehydrated, which didn't surprise us, so she needed IV fluids. They were going to do some bloodwork and if that didn't show anything then it was on to x-rays. We said a quick good-bye, afterall, we were picking her up in a few days.

After being on the road for maybe 2 minutes I got a phone call from the vet. They were able to get the IV started but her body gave out when they tried to put in the catheter. They did everything they could do but her body was too worn out.

The Vet wanted to know what caused it so they continued with the bloodwork. She had severe kidney failure. It was so bad the vet couldn't believe the results.

RIP Stormy. You were an angel to have and you will always be our Stormy. You will always be missed and loved, not just as a pet but as a member of this family.

Thank you for all you have done for us.

T-ball has begun

T-ball for Edwards Air Force Base has begun.  Jason is coaching Cody this year.  They are the New York Mets.  It was either them or...the Tigers, Padres and the dreaded, never going to happen Boston Red Sox.  Jason told the coordinator that there is no way he was going to coach for the Red Sox and if he tried then Jason would quit.  As die hard Yankees fans there is no way I would even let Cody be on a team that was the Boston Red Sox.
Here are some pictures from Monday nights practice.  Of course there is some of Wyatt as well.  I think he is getting upset about not having anything for himself.  But he is adjusted as well as can be expected.

Our Saturday

Saturday, the 10th, we spent with my family.  It was a fun filled day of eating out and playing games.  We first went to an "all you can eat" pizza place with games (kinda like Chuck E. Cheese) but with more and better food, called "John's Incredible Pizza" for lunch.  The boys love the games so much that they didn't want to eat the pizza before playing games.  They did want the ice cream you can get though.
Of course the grown-ups had to participate in the games as well.  My parents joined us for this wonderful adventure.
Garrett was none impressed with the whole noisy, lunch atmosphere.  Of course he didn't get to enjoy the food or the games either.
It was at "John's" that Cody so boisterously announced that he had a loose tooth.  He couldn't have been more excited to find this out since he has been checking his teeth for about a year waiting for one to fall out.

After lunch we ran a few errands, as usual for a Saturday.  Spent a bit of time with my sister and her family before heading to a nice restaurant for dinner.

We went to dinner at "Steer n Stein" which is usually a really awesome restaurant but don't ask Jason what he thought of his meal, or me for that matter.  The salad was good  :D  We had dinner as a huge family of 13 for my Grandmother's 92nd birthday which was Sunday the 11th.  Besides the food it was an awesome time with family.
During dinner, or waiting for our food, Cody announced that he had lost his tooth, after playing with it since he found out it was loose.
After dinner was a not so quiet (of course with my family it never is  :D ) time with the whole family (that is in California) at my parents house to have something birthday bread.  My grandmother's favorite cake is German Chocolate cake.  My mom found a recipe for German Chocolate bread.  Oh, it was wonderful and I need to get the recipe.
When we finally do leave California I am going to be sad missing all these family gatherings.  If you haven't noticed by now family is one of the most important things to me.  I love seeing the rest of the world but I do miss being close to family.

Easter Blessings

Happy Belated Easter everyone!!!  I hope you had a wonderfully spiritual day.  I had a wonderful day filled with family, traditions, and our Bishop.  Not only was yesterday Easter for us but we got to listen to General Conference (okay, that didn't happen, but we could have) AND we also had our Bishop over to help with the blessing of our 3 boys.  It was just wonderful.  The boys did amazingly well.  Garrett, well, he got woken up and between all the stretcing and moaning he let out a few toots.  It was difficult not to laugh during the blessing.
The weather did not cooperate so my mom and I hid eggs in the house and Cody and Wyatt hunted them.  They had fun and that is all that counts right?
Here is my usual picture reel of the days events.

Wyatt posing with all his goodies.
My ham, Cody, showing off all his goodies.
Garrett with his gorgeous bunny from Nana.
Look at that smile, he is precious.
The older boys getting ready to color eggs.  We were really behind on things so they didn't color eggs until Easter morning.
They look innocent, right?
Jason was giving me a break.  It was nice to have some extra time to play with the older boys.
Wyatt's Easter picture
Cody's Easter picture
Garrett's Easter picture wearing the same shirt that his Daddy wore on his first Easter and so did Wyatt, we didn't have it in time for Cody to wear it.
Cody was mad at me so we only got Wyatt and Garrett in this one.
Yep, what a shot
I am not sure if this one is any better
Now, how sweet are they?
My ham again, showing off his Easter hunt winnings
All of us after the boys were blessed by Jason.  This is our Bishop and he is just wonderful.  We are so blessed to have him as a Bishop.  He will be missed.

The whole family.  What a blessing to have them all there on a such a special day for us.
In the back are my parents, Elizabeth and Robert.
On the couch is Cody, me, my Grandma (Bethel), Jason and then Wyatt and Garrett are sitting on my lap hiding my fat.

Happy Easter everyone!!!

2 months

Hi everyone!!!  Today is April 2nd and that means my precious little boy is already 2 months old.  I did a short photoshoot with Garrett this morning before taking Cody to school.  I hope to have time to get a few more with him and with Cody and Wyatt.  I think that will help them not resent Garrett anymore than they might if it was just Garrett taking pictures.
Sunday is a special day for us as well.  Not only is it Easter but our Bishop will be stopping by after the afternoon General Conference session.  This is only because Jason will be blessing all 3 of our boys.  I am so excited for him and them.  I am also nervous for Jason.  I know he would be extremely nervous in church but I know he is nervous to do the blessings at home as well.  I can imagine how extremely nerve racking such a think can be.  I am sure it will be fine though.
Okay, here are a few of my favorite shots so far...
