Technical Sergeant Promotion

Well the day didn't quite go as planned.  The boys and I were rushing to get dressed and ready to go.  Thankfully my parents were able to make it up for the celebration so they helped with the boys while I got ready to go.
Cody was so excited to be able to "tack" on Daddy's new stripe.  We watched as all the others before got their stripes tacked on and were promoted to whatever rank they were being promoted to.
Then the time came when we were to go up with Jason and tack on his stripes.  That is when it sunk in that we were going to be on stage in front of EVERY person in the room.  Now I have realized that Cody is EXACTLY like me, in this instance also.  He did not like going in front of a crowd so he kicked and wrapped his legs around the chair legs so I couldn't pick him up.  After fighting for a bit I just gave up.  I knew that if he didn't go willingly then I would be fighting him the entire time.
So, my dad, Wyatt and I were on stage to tack on Jason's Technical Sergeant stripes.  Wyatt was very cute and loved it.  He is going to be like his Aunt Tanya, such a ham.
Here are some pictures.

They actually had some "refreshments", cake and water or lemonade.

Cody's birthday pictures

I am going to attempt to get caught up on this post since I am so far behind.  I am behind on everything unfortunately but hopefully I will be caught up soon so I can finish preparing for baby.
Okay, here is just a bunch of Cody's birthday pictures.

Cody's present from Grandpa and Grandma, lego's, oh how he LOVES them, so does Wyatt.

Aunt Tanya and Family bought these crash transformer cards.

A cool church shirt from Nana

One of his newest favorite shirts from Nana

From Nana, the movie "Up" only one of the most hilarious movies ever

Awesome black pants for church

Cody's second favorite shirt from Nana (it is Santa's favorite color)

A new bike helmet from mom and dad and Wyatt.

And of course a new bike to go with the helmet.  He outgrew his old one big time.  But this one scared him since it was bigger than his first one.  It took him a while to want to ride it.

And of course my ham in front of his awesome tank transformer cake.  The hat is from school.

This is from the day of his birthday.  We had to do something.

Daddy just couldn't let his day go by without letting him open a present so here is his first digital camera, of the star wars variety.

Volunteering

Today was the last day for Cody before a one week Thanksgiving break.  I am so excited for him and what he is accomplishing.
I also got the opportunity to volunteer in his class for his Thanksgiving "feast".  I thought it was just going to be for the party but it ended up being the whole day and wow how fast a half day kindergarten day flies by.
Since there is an AM and PM kindergarten the teachers share a room with another class.  Now, since we had a minimum day today and went to school during AM hours there were two classes in one classroom today.  Probably what a normal kindergarten class would be like 30+ kids.
Cody's class were all dressed up as Indians and the other, AM, class were dressed up as the Pilgrims.  The teachers had the student stand next to each other to show the friendship between the Indians and Pilgrims for pictures.  It was so cute.  So instead of trying to think of something clever to say I am just going to bombard you with the pictures I took of Cody during his Thanksgiving "feast".  Oh yeah, by the way, his "feast", and I say it that way because it consisted of popcorn, fruit and cookies.

Happy 6th Birthday Cody!!!

*Updated to add baby pictures of Cody finally*

Well, today is the day that my baby is growing up.  He is now a little man and maturing as everyday passes.  It amazes me how much he had changed and grown in his 6 years.
I am so proud to have him as my son and be his mother.  I pray that I can be the mother he needs and deserves and as he looks back on his childhood he will be happy and be able to smile and laugh.  We have so many years with him and I am so grateful for everyda that he is in my life.
Here is a few pictures of him this morning before school.  I also want to put a picture of him when he was born but it isn't on this computer so I am going to have to get on the other computer to do that.
I love you little man and I am so proud of you, your dad and I are both!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

The season for birthdays in my family is in full swing here.  As I talked about ealier, Jason's birthday was the 7th of Novemeber.
This past Saturday we went to Hesperia to visit my parents to celebrate my Dad's...birthday!!!  I was going to type his age but I don't want him upset with me on his birthday  :)
It was a lot of fun and good food.  My sister, Tanya, and her family were there to help us celebrate which made the evening that more special.  Silly me though, I was in such a hurry to get there that I forgot to grab my camera.  Hopefully I can grab some from mom that JoAnna took and show them here.
Happy Birthday Daddy!!!  I am truly sorry that you have to work today.  I know as we get older they aren't as important as they are when we were kids but it would still be nice if we could be lazy for the one day that is supposed to be dedicated to us.
You truly are the best dad I could have asked for growing up and I am so glad to call you Daddy.  Thank you for everything you have sacrificed for us and all you still do for us and the families we have created.
I love you!!!  Happy Birthday!!!

Back in action

Hello everyone!!!  We have been without the internet for a few days and I have been going through withdraws.  I didn't realize how much I depend on the internet in my daily life.  It was really tough but we are up and running, right now anyway.  I wanted to update you with the parad happening and Jason's birhtday celebration.
First I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Friday the 13th.  It didn't dawn on me at first but I know my brother loves it when his birthday falls on a Friday just because it would be a Friday the 13th birthday.
So here are some pictures.

Happy Birthday Jason!!!

Today is Jason's 30-something birthday.  What is he doing?  He woke up at 6 am because I jumped out of bed with 2 leg cramps.  Then he got dressed in his uniform to head to the base theater.  He will be riding a bus into town so he can march in a 2 mile Veteran's Day parade.  My parents are on their way now to ride into town with us to watch the parade.  After that we are going to try and get some shopping in, then relax at home and then Birthday dinner for Jason.
Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!!  I love you!!!

The Progression of my belly

I have been thinking about this a lot.  Especially since I put on a shirt of Jason's that I took over while pregnant with Cody.  I wore this shirt to the hospital and actually delivered Cody while wearing this particular shirt.  When I put it on recently it was already snug.  How could that be possible?  I delivered Cody in this shirt and I still have 3 months left of this pregnancy.  That was my thinking.
So I finally grabbed the boys baby books and started looking.  First I went on an emotional roller coaster thinking, how could it be possible that my boys are so big when they were so little.  Then I got to the belly shots.  I didn't notice a difference until I saw both boys belly shots and then looked at the recents shots I took of this pregnancy.  All I gotta say is WOW!!!  I mean, I know that I started out very skinny with Cody and never really got rid of the weight with either boy plus, I ended my pregnancy with Cody at about the same weight I started this one with but holy cow!!!  So here you can see for yourself.

Roughly 23 weeks with this pregnancy (taken Oct 5th)
26 weeks and 4 days pregnant with this one (taken Nov. 3rd)
Holy Freakin' Cow!!!

Please come back tomorrow when I do a tribute to my wonderful husband.  Tomorrow is his 30-something birthday and he gets to march in a Veteran's Day Parade, how cool!!!

Late Halloween

I am behind on these pictures.  Tomorrow I think I will show you a couple pictures of me so you can see how HUGE I am getting and how much I grew in one month.  Actually not quite a month but close.

Halloween night wasn't quite what we had planned.  Crazy me had to go to the mall to look for a book that I would love to be able to read before the baby is born.  For some crazy reason the Antelope Valley Mall does not have a bookstore.  Can you believe it.  Plus, I didn't know that the mall had a planned trick or treat night Halloween night with all the stores.  Oh, what a mad house.  I am just going to show pictures and let you enjoy instead of telling all the stuff that went wrong for me.  Enjoy!!!

I honestly don't remember taking this picture.  I wonder if it was Daddy.

Wyatt and JoAnna (my niece) Cody was refusing to take pictures.

Finally Cody got close enough to get a group picture.  Gotta love those reflective armbands.

This is the boys walking down the street.  They both were upset about a few things so it did make it rough in the beginning to get some trick-or-treating done.

The gang leaving a house.  Gotta love those hand signs the boys are always throwing.

My dad being himself.  :)  I am so glad they were able to come.  The boys adore my parents.

Yep, this is my family.  Can you believe I am as "normal" as I am growing up with this?  :)

Okay, what you don't see is that my dad was the first one to do this so the kids had to get in there too.

"Bobbing for candy"  :D

Look, he got something.  I think he kept his head in there until he got something.

JoAnna, she is such a ham.  She is definitely her mother's daughter  :D
All in all it was a great night.  We only went around our neighborhood and it was more than enough candy for the boys and we were able to get rid of all the candy we bought for trick or treating.  Plus, what is better than spending any holiday with family.  I am so glad that we got to share this occassion with my parents, my niece and my grandmother.  It is awesome.
